About Halfway House Garages

Halfway House Garages is an independent auto publication. We cover automotive news, vehicle reviews, repair and maintenance guidance, and the practical economics of car ownership. Our audience is everyday drivers who want clear information without the marketing hype.

Our Origin

Halfway House Garages began in 2025 as the blog of an independent vehicle repair workshop based in Shrewsbury and the village of Halfway House in the United Kingdom. The original blog published practical maintenance education for the workshop's customers, including the two pieces still featured on this site.

In 2026 the publication was relaunched with a broader editorial mission: independent auto coverage for a global readership. We retained the Halfway House Garages name in honour of the practical, grounded perspective that defined the original blog. We do not currently operate the workshop business, but the editorial values come from that history: tell drivers what they actually need to know.

What We Cover

Who Writes For Us

Our articles are written by named human writers with real bylines. Each contributor has a profile page on this site with their bio, credentials, and contact information. We do not publish AI-generated content. Our writers may use AI tools for research and brainstorming, but every published article is researched, drafted, and finalised by a human professional.

How We Differ

The auto publishing world has plenty of voices that are paid by manufacturers, insurance providers, or aftermarket parts companies. Our editorial coverage operates independently. When we review a vehicle that was provided by a manufacturer for testing, we say so explicitly. When we recommend a product or service, we have no commercial relationship with that vendor unless clearly disclosed.

Our financial model is reader access plus standard programmatic advertising. We do not run sponsored content disguised as editorial.

Our Editorial Standards

We follow a clear set of editorial standards covering sourcing, fact-checking, corrections, and disclosures. When we make mistakes, we publish corrections transparently in our public corrections log.
