Editorial Standards

Effective: May 2026. Last updated: May 2026.

This page sets out the editorial standards that govern publication on Halfway House Garages. We hold ourselves to these standards consistently. When we fall short, we correct openly.

Sourcing

Every article is grounded in at least two independent, verifiable sources. Where possible, we link directly to original sources, including manufacturer press materials, peer-reviewed studies, regulatory filings, and primary reporting. Quotes are sourced to their originator. We do not invent facts, attribute statements that were not made, or rely on a single source for material claims.

Authorship

Every article is written by a named human author with a public bio. We do not publish unbylined content. We do not publish AI-generated articles. Our writers may use AI tools for research support, brainstorming, or fact-checking, but every published article is researched, drafted, and finalised by a human professional.

Fact-Checking

Editors review every article before publication for factual accuracy, source verification, and clarity. Numerical claims are independently verified where feasible. Direct quotes are cross-referenced against source material. Technical claims relating to vehicle specifications, repair procedures, or safety are verified against authoritative sources such as manufacturer service documentation, official regulatory bodies, or qualified subject-matter experts.

Conflicts of Interest

Writers disclose any material financial or personal interest in topics they cover. Vehicle reviews disclose if the test vehicle was provided by the manufacturer. Sponsored content, when published, is clearly labelled as Sponsored. We do not accept payment from manufacturers, dealers, or service providers in exchange for favourable coverage.

Corrections

When we publish an error, we correct it transparently. The article is updated with a correction note appended at the bottom describing what was corrected and when the correction was made. Material corrections are also logged on our public Corrections page. We do not silently edit articles to remove errors after publication.

Reader Feedback and Disputes

We welcome reader correspondence at the addresses listed on our contact page. We respond to substantive correspondence within 48 hours. We take correction requests seriously and investigate any factual challenge in good faith.

Use of AI

Halfway House Garages does not publish AI-generated content. Our articles are written by named human writers. AI tools (including large language models such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini) are permitted for research, brainstorming, summarisation, and fact-checking support. The final published text is the work of the bylined author.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made independently of advertising or commercial considerations. Advertisers and sponsors have no influence on what we cover or how we cover it. Our advertising is delivered through standard programmatic networks and does not include sponsored editorial content unless explicitly labelled as such.
